September sunlight bending gently, angular and white.

The Voters Take a Dump....

Donald the Trump was out on the stump
Feeding his hairy ego.
He claims there's no one in the land
Better built to go where he go.

"Stupid is as stupid does,"
Everyone else is painted.
To all he'd yell his famous phrase
"You're fired! And I be sainted!"

But just in case he has a chance,
And voters have fooled me before,
Let's pass a law that asks the POTUS
If the thing on his head might roar!

Guns Don't Kill People, People Who Shouldn't Have Guns and Do...Kill People.

The NRA will say, very soon, that there's nothing we could have done to ensure that this hateful kid had no access to guns. Of course there are things we can do...but we don't do ANY of them. Gun advocates claim we are out to take away all their guns...we aren't. Why do they believe that a Federal Law to provide for reasonable background checks would be so unreasonable? THEY ARE TRYING TO PURCHASE A PRODUCT THAT KILLS. Who is unreasonable?

It's My Country...Not Your Religion.

Indiana and Arkansas are just two of the states where the Christian Right is trying to use the rule of law to codify their religious beliefs. Seems like every day they do something to replace the Constitution with the Bible. The difference this time (and it has surprised the hell out of me) is that the scope of the backlash is amazing and so satisfying. It is wonderful to finally show them that there are consequences to laws that hurt people...and that those people...all people...have voices. And now, in Ohio, the "Heartbeat" Bill will be debated in the State Senate. We need another loud message sent to our State Senators about consequences. Neverending Story

It seems like the last political circus called the presidential race never ended. And, yet,  it begins again. Most of us wish, at least, for a few moments of humor along this far too long road. The first candidate to announce, Ted Cruz, should...will provide some. Our nation has borrowed many things from the United Kingdom that we've tweaked and made our own. We would be much better off if we could only attempt to emulate their political campaign rules, at least as far as their length. Here we are in March of 2015, beginning the long march toward November of 2016, when we can finally vote. Combine all that time with all the money wasted and lies told and we see a very broken system. We've all seen how raucous sessions from their House of Commons and Lords can be, yet they can be so sensible in the length of time wasted on the campaigns. About 6 weeks. I know that hoping for common sense in a nation that says it's perfectly all right for corporations and the rich to spend as much as they want through PACS and other methods to buy the elections. But, we are still a Democracy, in a way, and we, the people, can still vote...so, there is still some hope. Fingers crossed.
