The Baby in the White House

There was a baby from the City
Who had to have his way.
He started rich but wanted more,
For no one, did he sway.

Golden Temples he did build
To honor HIM, they stood.
Truth was not an absolute!
He'd make his own...then learned he could!

The White House was his destiny
And thus it came to pass.
The Oval Office is his crib
Gold curtains drape his ass.

The talking heads of NEWS keep saying
"Maybe he will change!"
But the Soul of this country
Has become deranged.

There is another way:

If we must kill....

I have always fought against the death penalty. And, today, the debate rages from what death cocktail a state should use, with some causing cruel and unusual pain and extending the suffering hours longer than expected, to drug companies showing unusual respect for life and morality and discontinuing their supply. These drugs are expensive and hard to find.

Some time ago I suggested openly that we be creative and use the heroin in hundreds of evidence rooms and simply give the condemned hot shot sufficient to kill. We have an epidemic of addicts easily doing this to themselves and the epicenter seems to be Ohio. I admit I do not know what the state does with this heroin after the trial concludes, but I don't see any obstacle to providing it for that state's use...possibly for a fee, which would be substantially lower than the cost of drugs used now, and provide that community with funding for their needs. Can we be this creative?

"On the plus side, death is one of the few things that can be done just as easily as lying down," - Woody Allen (1935 - ).

We are animals.

Scientists like to prove we're better...
Somehow different..., always better,
Cause we must not, can not, be
Just an ANIMAL.

The opposable thumb separates...
For a while it did.
Then that didn't separate.

Use of tools separates...
For a while it did.
Then that didn't separate.

Now all that's left...it seems...
All that separates is sex.
Cause we can do it on the phone.

Seems to me we are animals and prove it every day.

Another Little Trumpster

A small voice from below drifted into our apartment..."Granma, why do we have to walk way down this street to pick up my sister?"
"Because she's in school and it's our job every day after school."
"Why does she go to school??"
"Every child must go to school. It's how you'll learn things. In fact, next year you'll have to go, too."
"Why do I have to go??"
"So you can learn about things."
"I don't have to go!"
"But..."
"Granma...I already know everything!"

Celebrate what we were....

Fireworks

On our nations day of birth, this year, I celebrate what we once were.
And wondrous heroes that endured some way...
Or did not and just stopped being.

An orange hurricane and his ever Christian gang are blowin' what was, all away.
This storm ain't stoppin' any time soon.
Fasten your seat belts...we're in for a bumpy ride.

Dream the Impossible Dream?

"I know how men in exile feed on dreams of hope." Aeschylus (525 - 456).

I dreamt our dream. You know the one. Boy from the U.S.A. makes good.
Finds true love.... Born high or low the dream immerses a soul in hope.
We taste freedom...bitter and sweet, and expensive.
How cheap our dreams are now.

 Tweeters...

Humans cry, scream, sigh and meme...and now...they tweet.
Vain folks tweet the most...like vain birds who think highly of themselves.
Folks that crave attention.
When they tweet, I will follow the birds first.

Ballgame Shooting

The Art of Death: (pretty...huh)

Our current reality.(click)..:

Should this man have been able to buy his guns? We don't know yet. It's a good question...if you are against the Wild West Reality this country has become. And, odds are, that reality will remain for some time. We have a Congress in Washington that recently said it would be a good thing for men and women, who have been classed as folks who can't handle their own affairs by either the Social Security Administration or the Veterans Administration, to be allowed to buy guns. Seems crazy? A bit?

Sessions' Blatant Prison Profiteering

Yoda Sessions has stepped from the shadows to make the most blatant move yet for this Cabinet of Trumpigari. He has directed all federal prosecutors to ask for the maximum sentence in each case that comes before them. Our Attorney General is very anti-crime (except for white collar and ethics violations). The stories detailing this obvious plan to increase profits for companies running our private prisons are linked below. The swamp is alive and getting more obvious.

French Wisdom

Wow... on April 23rd 2017, France held an election for President. No candidate had a majority, so a runoff was held May 7th. France elected the centrist candidate, Emmanuel Macron, an outsider who favors NATO and the European Union, over the right-wing Fascist, Marine Le Pen. I am very pleased with the outcome, but I would like to suggest that the way France holds their elections is far superior to our own. (Most Democracies' elections are superior to our own.)

France historically gets a very bad rap from Americans. Sometimes subtle and sometimes obvious jabs are often thrown their way. Here, though, is something to emulate. Our elections are ridiculous and a monumental waste of money, attention, and our nerves.

So, France, I salute thee on the day after a comfortable win for reason...:

Ch...ch...ch...changes...in meaning.

Strange Changes...

I saw a cartoon in a magazine...a lifetime ago...
Man's brain at different moments in life.
@ 20...75% is thinking of sex...25% ...golf and food
@40...50% is sex and 50% is golf
@80...10% is sex...and 90% is thinking about a decent bowel movement.

And, me, ...at 68...remaining erect has alternate meanings.

That's WTF I'm here??

All human history has one purpose: To repair Salo's spaceship.

Salo, the Tralfamadorian explorer, is a robot built millennia earlier to carry a message to a distant galaxy. His spacecraft is powered by the Universal Will to Become or UWTB, the "prime mover" which makes matter and organization wish to appear out of nothingness. (UWTB, Vonnegut informs the reader, was responsible for the Universe in the first place and is the greatest imaginable power source). A small component on Salo's spacecraft breaks and strands him here in the Sol System for over 200 millennia. He requests help from Tralfamadore, and his fellow Tralfamadorians respond by manipulating human history so that primitive humans evolve and create a civilization in order to produce the replacement part. Rumfoord's encounter with the chrono-synclastic infundibulum, the following war with Mars and Constant's exile to Titan were manipulated via the Tralfamadorians' control of the UWTB. Stonehenge, the Great Wall of China and the Kremlin are all messages in the Tralfamadorian geometrical language, informing Salo of their progress.

So it goes....

Imagine

Pretty...:

Imagine a world...folks who can't handle their lives...
Sayeth the Social Security Administration...
Now able to buy guns. Thanks NRA.
A recent analysis found a suicide rate among veterans
Of about 30 per 100,000 population per year,
Compared with the civilian rate of 14 per 100,000. And
So the House has approved legislation...
That would make it harder to keep veterans who are "mentally incapacitated,
Deemed mentally incompetent" or prone to blackouts from buying guns.

You don't have to imagine anymore.

What year is it?

There's an "Inner Party" and an "Outer Party."
Insies and outsies.... Outside...cold...and sick.
Winston tastes good...everyman does.

Are we always at war? Our volunteer heroes (do the rich share in this death?) die silently...
Will it ever stop? Rage...rage at the dying.

Remember "Caveat Emptor?"

Donald is changing America. With a stroke of his pen, he swept away the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's rule that financial advisers and agents must consider their customer's interests ahead of their desire for profit. Gone in a whoosh of his hand as is the wish that in a Great America we won't be taken advantage of.... That our people have a higher sense of integrity...or should have. Well, that the Idealist in me. I've always been one and was criticized because I was.... Donald is greed personified...

So remember Caveat Emptor...(Click); NY Times:

"Anger is a wind which blows out the lamp of the mind," - Robert Ingersoll (1833 - 1899).

Cosmic chaos bleeds through membranes
into our reality -
cookie cutter daily lives -
expanding like paper dolls
then torn apart in terrible beauty...
and DC becomes the Darkness, Power, and Terror
of Dorothy's Kansas.
